Moscow: Gritman Medical Center / FIRST STEPS Program
FIRST STEPS is a nationally recognized child abuse prevention program offering parenting support, education and referral resources to all parents. The process includes a specially trained volunteer that visits in the hospital birthing center with the parents and provides them with an educational Expecting Baby or Welcome Baby packet filled with information, community resources, a developmental calendar, a child's book, song booklet and book of rhymes. The volunteer offers three months of follow-up information to parents via phone calls and mailings. |
